The First in Issuing Visa Electron Smart Card (in-house)

Jordan Islamic Bank announced the presentation of the first Visa Electron Smart Card (Chip & Pin) issued completely in house. This card is one of the most accepted cards inside Jordan and abroad. It is the most secure when used at P.O.S or at A.T.Ms for cash withdrawals. The first purchase transaction was successfully processed at one of the Merchant’s outlets in Jordan.

It is worth mentioning that Visa Electron Smart Cardholders are able to use Chip Card to receive greater range of integrated applications and services through internet because it meets the standards and features required by Visa International.

Mr. Musa Shihadeh,Vice Chairman and General Manager, stated that Jordan Islamic Bank always seeks developing strategies, standards, products and electronic services. It will make every effort to go in line with the latest developments. We are pleased to be the first bank in Jordan that issues Visa Smart Card (Charge & Debit Cards) completely in house, by which we maintain security and control of the whole card issuance procedures, he said.

He also added, we follow Visa International regulations and requirements for totally migration to issue Visa Smart Cards with Chip techniques which offer security features, and more protection against counterfeit and fraud, even if the card is stolen or lost. As a result, we increase our cardholders confidence and encourage them to make greater use of their cards.
