Jordan Islamic Bank celebrated the opening of its 55th branch located in Al-Thaniya/ Karak governorate to provide all banking services in accordance with the provisions and principles of Islamic Sharia; thus bringing the number of the Bank’s branches to fifty-five and nine cash offices.

The opening of this branch comes within the Bank’s network plan for this year. It is scheduled to open a branch at Khreibt Essuoq in Amman during the next month. The opening of the branch comes as a result of the Bank’s interest in being close to those who like the Bank to be around, supporters of the Bank’s idea who have railed around it and blessed it through the dissemination of a network of branches and offices in various regions of the country. This emerged through a great welcome from the people of the region and the owners of commercial and economic activities who expressed their thanks and appreciation to the management of the Bank, which spares no effort to expand and facilitate the Bank’s services to citizens.
H.E. Mr. Musa Shihadeh, Vice-chairman and General Manager, said that “the opening of Al-Thaniya branch at Karak is a reflection of the depth of the march and the performance made by the Bank since starting its business in 1979, and we are proud of what has been achieved so far that confirms the continuity of the achievements and growth in service of the Jordanian economy.”
H.E. also emphasized the role of the Bank in consolidating the experience of Islamic banking and its constant quest to keep up with modern techniques for the development of financial services it provides to citizens and which is a priority to maintain the Bank’s strength to increase its share in the financial market. The Bank has recently announced a new service to its customers from the holders of Visa Smart card (Golden and Silver) so as to be able to shop safely and comfortablely via the Internet through VBV (a system for identification of Visa cards when used in shopping online) to be the first Jordanian bank to provide such service to its customers from the holders of Visa cards that will enable them to purchase goods or services via the Internet safely from various parts of the world.
It is worth mentioning that Jordan Islamic Bank is the first bank at the local level that issues the first Visa Smart card (Smart Card) (CHIP&PIN) printed and issued In-House. The Bank also provides SMS service via mobile phones to the holders of Visa card and to those who have current accounts. This is to keep up with the latest technological developments and applications.
