Jordan Islamic Bank, in cooperation with Jordan Environment Society, carried out a voluntary activity on the occasion of World Environment Day within the national initiative “Leave Your Mark” in embodiment of His Majesty King Abdullah bin Al-Hussein’s vision for Jordan to be a regional center for green development and in support of national environmental initiatives that aim to promote environmental awareness and inform the largest possible segment of the local community about the importance of preserving the homeland. The activity included carrying out a painting and cleaning campaign to improve the civilized and aesthetic appearance of Prince Hussein bin Abdullah Park on Al-Aqsa Street / Amman Governorate, with the participation of the Greater Amman Municipality, City Blue Waste Management Company, a number of bank employees, students of the Rosary Sisters Schools (Marj Al-Hamam and Al-Shmeisani) and Al-Maalem Educational Academy School, on 14/16/2026.
This activity comes within the framework of the bank’s implementation of its strategy in social responsibility and sustainability in the field of environmental protection and reducing negative impacts on it, in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 2030, and in maintaining a green and clean Jordanian environment, and encouraging employees to participate in social activities and volunteer work, in addition to supporting the joint efforts between the bank and Jordan Environment Society in supporting sustainable environmental activities, which enhances the importance of partnership between civil society institutions and the private sector to implement sustainable development programs that document the values of belonging and teamwork, and contribute to spreading awareness of the importance of preserving the environment.
For his part, Mr. Maan Nasayrah, Executive Manager of Jordan Environment Society, expressed his pride in the strategic partnership with Jordan Islamic Bank through the bank’s membership in the society or its ongoing sponsorship of community activities and initiatives aimed at protecting the environment. Mr. Ahmad Abdul Kareem, Manager of Corporate Communications at the bank, received a certificate of appreciation for the bank’s sponsorship of this activity.
