The Bank continued its Gold Sponsorship of the fourth edition of the Green Finance Forum 2026 — titled " Green Dialogue between the Public and Private Sectors: A Strategic Tool for Shaping Sustainability"—organized by the Association of Banks in Jordan. Held on 1/9/ 2026, at Four Seasons Hotel Amman, the event took place under the patronage of Mr. Ziad Ghanma, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Jordan (representing H.E. Dr. Adel Al-Sharkas, Governor of the Central Bank), and was attended by H.E. Eng. Walid Al-Masri, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Local Administration. The forum drew significant participation from banking sector leaders and decision-makers from international financial institutions, aiming to foster a national dialogue on the requirements for the Kingdom's green transition, enhance the role of sustainable finance in supporting economic growth, and build a more resilient and sustainable economy.
Commenting on this sponsorship, Dr. Hussein Said, CEO of Jordan Islamic Bank, stated that the Bank’s continued sponsorship and participation in the forum stem from its commitment to implementing its strategy of shifting towards a green economy. This aligns with the Economic Modernization Vision, national strategies, and policies led by the Central Bank of Jordan aimed at supporting the green transition and sustainability, as well as directing investments toward projects that deliver sustainable economic and environmental impact.
Dr. Hussein Said commended the efforts and initiatives undertaken by the Central Bank of Jordan and the Association of Banks in Jordan—including this forum—to address rapid shifts in economic and financial policies. emphasizing the role of the banking sector as a key partner in advancing the transition toward a greener and more sustainable economy, emphasizing that green finance is a strategic priority for the bank. This commitment aligns with its social responsibilities toward society and the environment, alongside its ongoing efforts to develop innovative, sustainable financing tools and products that support the green economy, conserve energy, and mitigate environmental risks.
During the opening ceremony, Mr. Ziad Ghanma and H.E. Mr. Bassem Al-Salem, Chairman of the Association of Banks in Jordan, presented a honorary shield to Jordan Islamic Bank in recognition of its sponsorship of the conference; the shield was received by Mr. Ahmad Abdel Kareem, manager of Corporate Communications at the bank.
One of the main topics covered in the forum sessions was the reality and importance of sustainability in Jordan, the role of the national green rating in guiding investments, ways to mobilize the necessary funding for the green transition and strengthening the partnership between the public and private sectors to support sustainable transformation.
