Jordan Islamic Bank and Ajloun National University signed an agreement of understanding according to which the bank issues the university student smart card, and replaces the cards currently in use, which gives university students and the teaching and administrative staff at the university benefit from the bank's banking services such as withdrawing through ATMs and/or purchasing from points Sale and various websites.
The agreement was signed on behalf of the bank by Dr. Hussein Said, Chief Executive Officer / General Manager, and on behalf of the university, its president, Prof. Dr. Firas Al-Hananda, at the building of Head Office of Jordan Islamic Bank on the fourth of September 2023.
The smart card issued by Jordan Islamic Bank is distinguished by the multi-characteristic contactless feature, as it is an identifying identity, and enables its holder to enter through the university gates and its various facilities, with the ability to withdraw cash from ATMs, in addition to the possibility of purchasing and paying through points of sale and websites, the card is charged through the bank's electronic channels or through its 111 branches and offices.
Dr. Hussein Said said, "This agreement is an extension of previous agreements implemented by our bank with universities and various official institutions to ease and facilitate the holders of the smart bank card in purchases and withdrawals from 316 ATMs affiliated with Jordan Islamic Bank, which are spread throughout the Kingdom, it is also possible to take advantage of the ATMs of other local banks,” indicating that a new ATM for the bank will soon be installed at the entrance to the main gate of Ajloun National University.
He also expressed his pride in the participatory relationship between the bank and the university, which confirms the bank's assumption of its social responsibilities in the educational field by providing support for the various activities of the university and its conferences, which serve the students, teaching and administrative bodies, and enhance the role of the bank in serving the people of Ajloun Governorate.
For his part, Dr. Firas Al-Hananda praised the continuous efforts of Jordan Islamic Bank in supporting the march of Ajloun National University and helping it to perform its scientific and societal mission, stressing the sustainability of the relationship between the university and the bank for the benefit of both parties.
