Jordan Islamic Bank has launched the new Islamic installment card “split”, which represents an innovative financing solution that allows the bank’s customers to pay for their purchases of goods and services carried out through (Visa or Mastercard) that comply with the provisions and principles of Islamic Sharia.
This service can be used at various points of sale and websites inside and outside the Kingdom, with a fixed installment that does not change and flexible payment periods, according to Sharia financing formulas (Murabaha, Musawama, Al-Ijarah Al-Mawsufah Fi-Al-Dhimmah, or AL Qard Hasan), within a specific financing ceiling approved by the bank, and in accordance with the card’s terms and conditions.
The “split” card is distinguished by its reliance on a system of legitimate contracts through which the purchase process is completed by proxy, to offer its sale in installments according to the appropriate installment period and purchase amount. The card also provides the possibility of calculating reward points (loyalty points) for purchases, and viewing a monthly electronic statement that includes details of transactions and installments through “Islami Mobile” application, in addition to benefiting from the advantages, offers and discounts provided by many companies and stores and visiting VIP lounges at airports, according to the type of card.
On this occasion, Dr. Hussein Said, CEO of Jordan Islamic Bank, said, “The launch of the ‘split’ card comes as an extension of the bank’s ongoing approach to developing its Islamic banking products and services, in a way that meets the needs of different customer segments and keeps pace with the latest developments in digital financial services, while fully adhering to the provisions and principles of Islamic Sharia.”
He added that the card gives customers high flexibility in installment payments for purchases, and the option to choose suitable repayment periods ranging from 3 months to 24 months, which contributes to enhancing the customer experience and providing innovative and modern financing solutions, stressing that the bank will continue to provide value-added banking services and products that meet customer expectations.
Those wishing to benefit from the advantages of the "split" card can visit any of the bank's branches to complete the issuance procedures, or visit the bank's official website www.jordanislamicbank.com to learn more details.
