Jordan Islamic Bank participated in the refereed international scientific conference of the Jordan Scholars Association entitled "Muslim Youth in a Changing World" in cooperation with Mu'tah University / Faculty of Sharia, under the patronage of His Excellency Professor Dr. Salama Al-Naimat, President of the University, with the participation and attendance of scholars, university professors and researchers from various Sharia and academic specializations from inside and outside Jordan, at Mu'tah University during the period 5-6 November 2024.
During the opening session of the conference, Dr. Hussein Said, CEO of Jordan Islamic Bank, expressed his happiness to be present at this international scientific conference to discuss youth issues, the challenges they face, and the successful solutions and experiences in addressing them. He stressed the bank’s keenness to be present at the conferences of Jordan Scholars Association, whose conferences are distinguished by reviewing issues that are considered pillars of building society.
He stressed the importance of enhancing the capabilities of young people and expanding the scope of opportunities available to them through economies that generate decent work and encourage entrepreneurship, and social systems that encourages equality, justice and equal opportunities. He praised the faculties of Sharia in Jordanian universities and the Islamic centers operating in Jordan for embracing Muslim youth, guiding them in the correct Islamic direction, and working to prepare them to serve their Islam, their country and the society in which they live.
He reviewed the role of Jordan Islamic Bank in empowering youth in various ways, whether through its workforce or by benefiting from banking services that meet their needs, as 90% of the bank’s financing services specifically target individuals (youth and women) and small and medium enterprises, thus enhancing the concept of financial inclusion, in addition to granting financing to youth who join the national self-employment program “Inhad”, to contribute to reducing unemployment, preserving existing job opportunities and providing new job opportunities.
He pointed out that the bank's presence in various specialized meetings supporting the achievement of social, economic and developmental security, including this conference, strengthens the relationship between the bank and Jordan Scholars Association, Mu'tah University and its Faculty of Sharia, and achieves the bank's role in assuming its sustainable social and economic responsibilities in the service of Jordan and the Arab and Islamic nations, looking forward to this conference achieving its goals and producing results and recommendations that serve the interests of all.
During the opening ceremony of the conference, His Excellency Prof. Dr. Salama Al-Naimat, President of Mutah University, presented Dr. Hussein Said, CEO of Jordan Islamic Bank, with two honorary shields from the university and Jordan Scholars Association for the bank’s contributions to supporting the march of science and scholars.
