Jordan Islamic Bank participated in a financial awareness campaign targeting the women sector, entrepreneurs and business owners entitled “Your Financial Health... for a Better Future.” The campaign was organized by Association of Banks in Jordan and in cooperation with the United Nations Women and the European Trust Fund “Madad”, funded by the European Union and with the participation of the Central Bank of Jordan/Department of Financial Consumer Protection and Social Security Corporation, and a number of Jordanian banks also participated in the campaign. The campaign aims to increase awareness and financial and banking culture among the women sector in general, as well as entrepreneurs and business owners, and to introduce them to the financial services and products designated for them and the importance of managing money in sound ways. These campaigns were held in the governorates of Irbid, Karak, and Zarqa during the period from 6 to 15 February 2024.
Dr. Hussein Said, CEO/General Manager of Jordan Islamic Bank, said, “Our bank’s participation in these campaigns is an implementation of our bank’s strategy in contributing to the dissemination of Islamic financial culture, which is compatible with the national strategy for financial inclusion, and raising the degree of awareness of banking services and products that target various sectors of society, Including the women’s sector and entrepreneurs of small projects, professions and businesses,” praising the collaborative relationship with the Central Bank of Jordan and the Association of Banks in Jordan in spreading financial awareness among various segments of society.
Dr. Hussein Said stressed the bank’s endeavor to cooperate with institutions interested in empowering women to obtain more banking services and various financing within the small projects plan for women, in addition to the bank’s commitment to the Jordanian Loan Guarantee Company within the framework of the special program to guarantee loans for projects owned or managed by Women, with a coverage rate of 80%, with the aim of enhancing women’s benefit from this feature.
A number of male and female employees of Jordan Islamic Bank from Head Office and branches of the Irbid, Karak and Zarqa governorates participated in the campaign through banking awareness efforts, responding to the inquiries of the attendees and participants, and introducing Jordan Islamic Bank’s banking, financing, investment and electronic products and various bank cards aimed at women and entrepreneurs. Banking financial guidance was also provided and in-kind prizes were distributed to the winners of financial awareness competitions that were organized during the campaigns.
