Jordan Islamic Bank continued its participation in collective weddings, by celebrating the wedding of twenty grooms and brides in the thirty-third collective wedding ceremony organized by Al-Afaf Charity Association, Where Dr. Abdul Hamid Abu Saqri, Assistant General Manager of the Bank, handed over a gift of " Nuqout " to brides, during the ceremony that was held in the halls of the Khalil Al-Rahman Society / Al-Sweifieh on the 28/7/2023.
Dr. Abdul Hamid Abu Saqri said that the continuity of our bank’s participation in supporting collective weddings achieves our bank’s vision of commitment to social responsibility and sustainability, interest in community development and strengthening bonds of interdependence, compassion and solidarity, indicating that the bank continues to contribute to economic and social development by supporting young people and helping them with the costs of marriage. By providing Al-Qard AL-Hassan to them and in cooperation with Al-Afaf Charitable Association, where the total of Al-Qard AL-Hassan provided in coordination with the association since its establishment in 1995 until the end of 2022 amounted to about JD 7.4 million distributed to 11,465 thousand beneficiaries. This is in addition to financing the grooms who wish to buy furniture and various necessities and providing money to the grooms who participate in the collective weddings that the association organizes annually, in addition to allocating the bank to Al-Qard AL-Hassan account that receives deposits from those wishing to lend them through the bank as good loans for social purposes such as education, treatment and marriage. The balance of this account at the end of 2022 was about JD 2.5 million, and the total of Al-Qard AL-Hassan provided since the bank’s establishment until the end of 2022 amounted to about JD 422 million, benefiting about 555 thousand customers.
For his part, Dr. Munther Zaytoun, Vice President of Al-Afaf Charitable Association, thanked and appreciated Jordan Islamic Bank for its support of the activities of Al-Afaf Association since its inception and the success of its programs and projects that achieve the interests of society by providing money and Al-Qard AL-Hassan to the grooms participating in collective weddings since the establishment of the association.
