In order to enhance Jordan Islamic Bank’s assumption of its social responsibilities in the field of scientific and academic research in service of the educational process and in support of the national economy, the Bank provided sponsorship for the sixth international scientific conference of the Faculty of Business at Ajloun National University, entitled “The Digital Economy, Reality - Ambition,” under the patronage of the delegate of the Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Secretary General of the Ministry, Ms. Samira Al-Zoubi, with the participation of about a hundred academics and researchers from Arab and foreign universities and official institutions, during the period 27-28 July 2024 at Ajloun National University.
Dr. Hussein Said, CEO of Jordan Islamic Bank, said, “Our bank’s support for this conference is a continuation of what it has always done in providing sponsorship, support, or participation in local and foreign conferences and seminars that are related to its areas of work or that help in developing the work of Islamic banks and in parallel with achieving our bank’s strategy in digital transformation in light of the great technological acceleration that has been reflected in various sectors.”
He pointed out that this conference provides an opportunity to present research, studies, discussion and consultation on the digital economy and improve its performance in a way that serves the scientific and research process in the field of Islamic banking.
The conference sessions, which discussed 73 research papers, included several topics on the role of the digital economy in business intelligence and the challenges it faces, Islamic banking, the digital economy, the contribution of artificial intelligence, the impact of digital transformation on the quality of banking services, management information systems, accounting, financial and banking technology, business administration, etc.
At the end of the opening of the conference, Professor Dr. Firas Ahmed Al-Hanandeh, President of Ajloun National University, thanked Jordan Islamic Bank for sponsoring the conference, which emphasizes the principle of communication and partnership between the university and the bank. Professor Dr. Muhammad Nour Al-Sammadi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Ajloun National University, handed over an honorary shield to Mr. Ahmad Abdel Karim - Manager of the Corporate Communications Unit at the Bank, in appreciation of the Bank’s sponsorship of the conference.
