Jordan Islamic Bank sponsored the 14th International Conference of the Faculty of Law at Jerash University, entitled "Personal Data Protection in the Digital Age: Challenges and Solutions." The conference was held under the patronage of the President of Jordan Bar Association, Professor Yahya Abu Aboud, and in the presence of the President of Jerash University, Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Khalayleh, with the participation of researchers and academics from inside and outside Jordan, during the period 3-4 May 2025.
Commenting on the bank's support for this conference, Dr. Hussein Said, CEO of Jordan Islamic Bank, said, "In confirmation of the bank's commitment to its social responsibilities by supporting scientific and academic activities that serve the national economy, the bank's sponsorship of this conference comes alongside strengthening the sustainable relationship with Jerash University through continued support for its various activities that enrich the scientific and research process." He also pointed to the agreement between the university and the bank, through which the bank issues a smart university student card with multiple features that allows students and employees at Jerash University to benefit from the bank's various banking services and facilitate payment and shopping operations.
During the opening session of the conference, Jordan Islamic Bank was honored, where Mr. Yahya Abu Aboud, President of Jordan Bar Association, handed over an honorary shield to Mr. Hani Bani Hani, Manager of Jordan Islamic Bank / Jerash Branch, in appreciation of the bank's support for the conference.
The conference's themes included the conceptual framework for personal data and the challenges of protecting it in the digital age, under the Public and Private Law theme, an analysis of the legislative framework for personal data protection, the role of the National Cybersecurity Center and the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, and the role of the banking and telecommunications sectors in protecting personal data, among others.
