Based on Jordan Islamic Bank's commitment to implementing its strategy for achieving sustainable development goals and to being an active participant in a more resilient, inclusive, and equitable environment, the Bank provided exclusive sponsorship for the peer-reviewed international scientific conference titled "Sustainable Development and its Applications from shar’i Perspective" The conference was organized by Jordan Islamic Scholars and the Faculty of Sharia and Islamic Studies at Yarmouk University, under the patronage of Professor Dr. Malek Al-Sharairi, President of Yarmouk University, with the participation and attendance of scholars, university professors, and researchers from various religious and academic disciplines from inside and outside Jordan, at Yarmouk University during the period 28-29/10/2025.
sponsorship of Jordan Islamic Bank for the conference comes from the bank's long-standing commitment to sustainability and as an integral part of its mission towards sustainable and inclusive development that considers both people and the environment, thereby enhancing financial inclusion and leaving a positive impact on society. This is achieved through participation, support, and sponsorship of activities, conferences, and seminars on various topics that promote this concept and have a tangible impact on societal and economic development.
During the opening session of the conference, Professor Dr. Malik Al-Sharairi, President of Yarmouk University, and His Excellency Professor Dr. Abdul Nasser Abu Al-Basal, President of Jordan Islamic Scholars, presented Dr. Mohammad Al-Daqamse, manager of Jordan Islamic Bank, Irbid Branch / Baghdad Street, an honorary shield in appreciation of the bank's sponsorship of the conference.
The two-day conference sessions included discussions on several topics that reviewed the concept of sustainable development in Quran and Sunnah, the role of Quranic legislation in achieving development, covering the legal, judicial, academic, scientific, and educational aspects related to it, as well as expanding in the field of Islamic finance, Islamic financial innovation, the Islamic economy, the role of Islamic banks in achieving sustainable development, and other subjects.
