Jordan Islamic Bank received the award of the "Strongest Islamic Financial Institution in Jordan for 2026", presented by Banking Executive Magazine, published by World Union of Arab Bankers. The award was presented as part of the magazine’s 2026 Banking Excellence and Achievement Awards ceremony, which was held in Istanbul on 11/9/2026, attended by a selection of Arab bank leaders, international banking figures, and regional institutions.
Mr. Wissam Fattouh Secretary General of the World Union of Arab Bankers and Secretary General of the Union of Arab Banks, presented the award to Dr. Hussein Said, CEO of Jordan Islamic Bank, in the presence of H.E. Dr. Adel Sharkas, Governor of the Central Bank of Jordan. The presentation took place on the sidelines of the Arab Regional Conference held in Amman on 21/9/ 2026.
Dr. Hussein Said, CEO of Jordan Islamic Bank, said: “Our bank receiving this award is the culmination of more than four decades of the bank’s journey, and the achievements it has made that have consolidated its leadership position in the Jordanian banking sector and embodied its commitment to continuing to develop its banking services and products, enhancing its competitiveness and improving customer experience. The award also reflects the bank’s efforts in consolidating corporate governance practices, enhancing performance and management efficiency, in addition to its role in developing the Islamic banking industry and providing innovative solutions that are compatible with the provisions and principles of Islamic Sharia, in a way that meets the needs of customers and supports sustainable growth.”
This honor comes as part of the Arab Banking Excellence and Achievement Awards presented annually by the World Union of Arab Bankers in recognition of the bank's stature and outstanding achievements within the Islamic banking sector, as well as its role in the development of financial markets and services and the advancement of economic development.
