Dr. Haider Mansour Al-Zaben, Director General of JSMO, presented the letter of appreciation to Mr. Musa Shehadeh, General Manager of the Jordan Islamic Bank, at a ceremony organized by the organization on Thursday, March 26, 2015. On this occasion, Mr. Shehadeh stated that the awarding of this letter of appreciation to the bank is a result of its commitment to its social responsibilities and its continued pursuit of fulfilling its social role according to a disciplined methodology and standards. This has contributed to the success of the sustainable development process, community building, and increased productivity through the provision of distinguished programs, including financing for artisans and professionals (financing small and medium-sized enterprises), and contributing to solving the problems of unemployment and poverty. In addition to our bank's adoption of a four-year strategic sustainability plan, which includes a focus on renewable energy, our bank is a pioneer among Jordanian banks in providing alternative (solar) energy in 20% of its branches currently and will continue to do so to include all branches and offices. We also provide financing to entrepreneurs in the renewable energy sector, support water conservation programs in cooperation with the Ministry of Water and Irrigation, participate in supporting environmental, agricultural, and volunteer activities, and prioritize the training and development of our bank's employees. Furthermore, we promote a culture of sustainability and raise awareness of social responsibility through sponsorship, support, and participation in various conferences and meetings that reinforce this concept, all while adhering to the principles of governance and transparency. Shehadeh emphasized that the Jordan Islamic Bank will continue on this path to remain a leader, fulfilling its role on various economic, developmental, and social levels, meeting the aspirations of its clients, and implementing the mission of Islamic banking in all its aspects.
